Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Sonarset ("we", "us"), an Australian business (ABN 23 366 156 945) based in Bundaberg, Queensland, covering your use of the Sonarset website, application, and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. What the Service is

Sonarset is cloud-based asset management software. It lets you record assets, print QR tags, receive check-ins (including location, notes, and photos submitted by whoever scans a tag), receive automated alerts, and, on eligible plans, manage contractors and quote requests.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the people you invite as team logins.
You must be at least 18 and using the Service for business purposes.

3. Plans, trials, and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in Australian dollars through our payment provider, Stripe. Plan inclusions and limits (assets, storage, team logins, contractor slots) are as described on our pricing page at the time of purchase.
New subscriptions include a free trial (currently 7 days). A valid payment method is required to start a trial; billing begins automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
You can change plans at any time; differences are prorated by Stripe on your next invoice.
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for; we do not provide refunds for partial billing periods, except where the Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise.
Promotional offers (such as a free month) are conditional on remaining subscribed and are forfeited if you cancel, as described when offered.

4. Your data

Everything you and your users put into Sonarset — assets, check-ins, photos, contractors, quotes — remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.
You can export your data at any time from within the app.
If your subscription ends, your account becomes read-only and we retain your data for at least 90 days so you can export it or reactivate. After that we may delete it.
You are responsible for having the right to upload the content you upload, including photos, and for the accuracy of information your users submit.

5. Location accuracy and what Sonarset is not

Check-in locations come from the scanning device (with the scanner's permission) and depend on that device's GPS, settings, and honesty. Locations may be imprecise, missing, or incorrect.
Sonarset is a record-keeping and visibility tool. It is not a security system, theft-prevention device, real-time tracking guarantee, or a substitute for insurance, and we make no promise that it will prevent loss, locate, or recover any asset.
Automated alerts depend on third-party email delivery and your configuration; do not rely on them as your only safeguard for critical assets.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to break the law, infringe anyone's rights or privacy, track people without a lawful basis, send spam (including through quote requests), attempt to breach or overload the Service, or resell it without our written agreement. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and relies on third-party infrastructure. We may modify features over time and will not materially reduce what your paid plan includes mid-billing-period.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. Where we are permitted to limit liability, our total liability for all claims connected with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data caused by events outside our reasonable control.

9. Ending or changing these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be flagged in the app or by email, and continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
